About

Hello,

My name is Jeff Shearl. I’m a writer from Akron, Ohio. Here you’ll find samples of my writing, including the pieces from my “Write Flash Fiction Every Day No Matter What” challenges. As the name suggests I write flash fiction every day for a month. No matter what. I kind of just choose a month all willy-nilly when I start getting burnt out writing longer stories. In these challenges it is important to note that the writing will not always be great, or even very good. I could make a point here about how that relates to the life of a writer, but that’s not my style.

You’ll find stories about the triumph of the little guy, magic, the worry of youth in modern American life, orangutans, the nature of fear, psychosis, and robots.

Want more? I have a story appearing in Belt Magazine’s Akron Anthology which is an fantastic collection of stories written by authors living in Akron. Get your copy here.

I also have a story published in the Spring 2017 edition of the Intima: a journal of narrative medicine which you can read free here.
